Dedicated circuits
Dedicated Circuit Installation in Brier
When one appliance takes out half the house, the appliance is rarely the thing at fault.
Heavy loads on their own supply
Houses built for a 1970s household are now running a microwave, a kettle and an air fryer off circuits intended for a toaster. They keep tripping, and resetting them changes nothing. A dedicated circuit runs from the panel to one piece of equipment and nothing else. It is the fix for appliances that trip under load, shop tools that dim the lights on start-up, and detached garages fed off the house years ago as a temporary measure that never got revisited. Like everything we install, the work is covered by our two-year workmanship warranty.
What is included
The right size, not the biggest
Conductor and breaker matched to the equipment nameplate.
A route planned for the building
Crawl space, attic or conduit, with underground runs to a detached garage.
Panel capacity checked first
If the circuit pushes the service past what it carries, you hear it before we start.
Permit, inspection and labelling
Filed where required, inspected, and the breaker marked.
Why people call
The breaker goes on start-up
Motors and compressors draw far more starting than running.
Lights dim when something kicks in
Voltage drop — too much on one run, or a run too long for its size.
A new appliance has arrived
Ranges, wall ovens and air handlers want their own circuit.
There is a detached garage or shop
Fed off a house circuit, these are a steady source of trouble.
How the work runs
Read the nameplate
The equipment states what it needs.
Check the panel
Spare capacity and a free slot, or the options if neither.
Plan and run
Shortest practical route, properly supported and protected.
Test and inspect
Under load, then signed off and labelled.
Questions about this work
How do I know I need one?
If one specific appliance causes the trip, almost certainly. Random trips with nothing unusual running point to a fault instead.
Can you run power to a detached garage?
Yes — a feeder, usually underground, with a disconnect at the far end. Quoted properly rather than run on a cord.
Will my panel take another circuit?
Often yes, and where it will not there are usually answers short of a service upgrade.
Stop resetting the same breaker
Tell us what trips it and we will tell you whether a dedicated circuit is the answer.
